Sasya in Sanskrit translates to ‘Whole’. Our mission in creating Sasya is to introduce authentic and healthy Indian flavors made with real food into every day eating.
Our three spreads- Cilantro, Eggplant, and Peanut-Coconut, are created from unique family recipes that I grew up with to bring richness and flavor to American food, without adding any artificial flavors, colors, preservatives present in comparable products around stores today. We cook them to perfection in a blend of spices and herbs to bring a distinctly delicious flavor.
We hope to succeed in making healthy food more accessible without compromising on flavors. Here’s to real food!
Sasya reflects my upbringing in a farming family in rural India where food was rich, deep, healthy and nutritious. Having lived and travelling in various cities in the U.S for the past 7 years, I finally found home in the nation’s capital where there is a noticeable food revolution afoot. My yearning for flavors from home and a percievable lack of savory and flavorful healthy snacking options made me realize the need for creating Sasya, borrowing traditional recipes from home.
When I am not tweaking our production process, or fretting the details on our labels, you can find me jogging along the Anacostia or on a long ride on Washington & Old Dominion Trail.
I am interested in digital marketing, marketing research, and consumer behavior. I recently graduated from the University of Maryland with degrees in marketing and supply chain and a French studies minor. I enjoy traveling, cooking, trying new restaurants in DC, and going to the beach with my two dogs, Sadie and Willow.
